Social Work CEU’s & Education SCECH’s will be available for a nominal fee at the conference and is open to all human services professionals: child welfare, substance abuse, mental health, public health, school counselors, courts, tribal partners, religious organizations, housing programs, etc.

We are accepting nominations for
 2016 Outstanding Individual Award & Outstanding Agency Award
to be presented at the UPCC annual conference April 15.


The Outstanding Individual Award recognizes an individual whose efforts have improved, enhanced or in a significant way contributed to the betterment of the lives of children and families in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

The Outstanding Agency Award recognizes a public or private agency that has made a significant contribution to children and families either through exemplary programs, dedicated services or advocacy on behalf of children and families.

Nominations should be emailed to Melissa Arbelius-Poole at by 5 p.m. Tuesday March 15, 2016.

The U.P. Children’s Coalition encourages all those concerned with the health and well-being of children and families in the Upper Peninsula to join us in advocating on their behalf.  Together we can work together to:

  • Make children’s optimal growth and development a top priority
  • Support the role of the family and address the needs of the whole child.
  • Expand family focused supports and services that empower parents and strengthen families
